Title: Attorney
Company: Williams Law Office
Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States

Peter M. Williams, Esq., Attorney at the Williams Law Office, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in elder law.

Mr. Williams is an accomplished legal professional focusing on elder law at his firm, the Williams Law Office, in Chandler, Arizona. Prior to his current post, he served as an attorney with the Catherine Leas Office. As an elder law attorney, he believes in protecting vulnerable adults from harm and fighting for them to be made whole if they have been harmed. Mr. Williams sues on behalf of his clients in cases of exploitation, breach of contract, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, though the tools he uses and situations he handles are diverse.

In preparation for his career, Mr. Williams attended Arizona State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in justice studies in 2001. He previously attended the University of California Hastings College of the Law, graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1993. Mr. Williams has been admitted to practice by the State Bar of Arizona and before the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.

The recipient of the Family of the Year award by the YMCA, Mr. Williams has also earned several awards for mediation. He is proud of setting up the probate mediation program for the Maricopa County Superior Court, where he accepted a job as a program manager for the alternative dispute resolution program. Tasked with setting up one program in a department of his choice, he chose probate because of the family dynamics the court often handled.

Mr. Williams considers his area of expertise to be looking at the aging process and evaluating outcomes. Though he sees varied cases, he handles matters involving long-term care planning, guardianship, and conservatorship. He attributes his success to having a strong family and sense of community values, as well as his intellectual curiosity and passion for learning. As the first person in his family to attend college, Mr. Williams was inspired and encouraged by his professors to pursue his natural inclination for the law.

Mr. Williams has maintained affiliation with multiple professional organizations to stay abreast of developments in his career. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Institute of Trial Advocates, the Arizona State Bar, and the Maricopa County Bar. Mr. Williams served the West Maricopa County Bar Association as the past secretary, treasurer, vice president, and president. In the coming years, he plans to focus his efforts on the development of continuing legal education, which he sees as a bridge between universities and the legal profession.
